New Year, New Website

GRDA introduces new version of GRDA.com

Vinita – New year, new website

A recent “remodel” in cyberspace has brought a new look to the Grand River Dam Authority’s website.

“We’ve upgraded facilities, streamlined operations and introduced new initiatives. An upgrade to our website goes hand in hand with all this.” – Kevin Easley, CEO GRDA

Online since 1998, grda.com is the Authority’s official website and contains a wealth of information on the GRDA, including electricity and lake-related information, minutes from board meetings and GRDA history. However, the new-look site retains all this information while adding other new features as well.

“There has been a lot of positive change around GRDA in recent years,” said GRDA Chief Executive Officer Kevin Easley. “We’ve upgraded facilities, streamlined operations and introduced new initiatives. An upgrade to our website goes hand in hand with all this.”

Easley noted however, that the new website is not merely an appearance change. “This is not just a GRDA presence in cyberspace,” he said. “Going forward, we expect the new features to the site to make it more of an interactive tool for visitors.”

While some of the changes are still works in progress, the new site is already online with some of the new features in place.

“We are launching a more interactive employment and jobs section,” said GRDA Web Developer John Lovell. “Applicants can now submit their resumes directly through the site and when GRDA has a job posting, they can apply for them online as well.”

Also new to the site will be a feature that allows vendors to search and download Request For Quotations (RFQs) and Request For Proposal (RFPs) through the site. That feature will help to curb the need to publish these to paper or DVD, unless absolutely necessary. Other new features, related to lake level information, are also planned for the future.

“We look forward to having this renewed cyber presence,” said Easley, “and hope that visitors to the site will be find it useful as well.”
