Langley - The Grand River Dam Authority is warning the public to stay off of the ice on Grand and Hudson lakes.
“We’ve had a couple of incidents where we have had to rescue kids playing in those areas,” said GRDA Superintendent of Law Enforcement Charlie Floyd. “It is extremely dangerous out there and we can’t stress enough that people need to stay clear.”
Though ice has formed in some coves and protected areas of the lakes, it is simply not strong enough to support people, stressed Floyd.
“Please use common sense, stay clear and stay safe,” he added.
