Purpose of Position

This is an unclassified (exempt) position performing duties for the System Operations Training Department of the Grand River Dam Authority maintaining documentation to meet SPP, NERC and FERC compliance requirements.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports directly to the Asst. Supt. of System Operations Trainer or designated supervisor.

 

SUPERVISED PERSONNEL:  This position will not supervise/train subordinate employees or serve as a lead worker.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains training documentation of the System Operations training program.
  • Maintains custom databases, Learning Management Systems, spreadsheets, web sites, and other documentation storage facilities.
  • Processes departmental records for retention or destruction in extremely organized fashion.
  • Prepares reports and documents for internal, SPP, NERC, and FERC audits or other compliance needs.
  • Assist trainers in setup and closeout of training courses and participates in course evaluations.
  • May serve as a proctor to maintain the integrity of the training program learning assessments.
  • Prepares internal forms for System Operation personnel to travel to training events.
  • Design and develop plans, procedures, training materials, or technical papers with assistance for various Subject Matter Experts.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an educational field from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent instructional design or personnel qualification program experience.   

 

SPECIAL CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS, LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Must have or the ability to obtain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. 
  • Prefer NERC certification.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent writing and composition skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of Systematic Approach to Training models and Personnel Qualification programs.
  • Prefer knowledge of the NERC System Operator Certification program.
  • Must possess very strong organizational skills.
  • Competent with personal computers; prefer experience SQL databases, Microsoft Office Suite of products, and educational design software.
  • Work as team in the maintenance of the overall System Operator training program.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to work an 8 hour schedule and be willing to travel as required.
  • Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail. 
  • Must be capable of performing job duties under stressful situations and under tight timelines.
  • Must be capable of presenting documentation for an audience of management or other governing officials.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & SAFETY CONCERNS:        

  • Work is usually performed in an office environment with occasional outdoor fieldtrips for training.

 

JOB LOCATION:

  • Work is performed primarily at the Kerr Energy Control Center near Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
