Cleaning your boat? Keep these tips in mind:
No matter where you clean your boat – on the water or the land – it is still possible for the cleaning products to end up back in the water, and that is why it’s important to use the right kind of cleaner.
Because some cleaners can have an adverse affect on the quality of the water, aquatic life or even human health, the GRDA Ecosystems Management Department reminds you to choose your cleaners wisely. Look for those products that are phosphate-free and biodegradable; be sure to read the warning label and know the dangers. Finally, if you need more information, request the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from the product manufacturer.
