GRDA Board to meet September 12
Vinita The Grand Lake Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), a work authorization for a project at its Coal-Fired Complex and contracts with municipal customers are among the items to be addressed by the Grand River Dam Authority Board of Directors at its September meeting. Scheduled for Wednesday, September 12 (10 AM) the meeting is open to the public and will be held at GRDA Administration in Vinita.
Also on the proposed agenda will nominations and election of new board officers (chairman-elect) for the next 12 months. The current GRDA Chairman is Steve Spears, the assistant city manager and city engineer for Cushing, Oklahoma. Spears represents the Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma (MESO) on the GRDA Board.
A complete copy of the proposed September agenda can be found online at www.grda.com, as well as board meeting schedules and minutes from previous meetings.
GRDA is governed by a seven-member board of directors comprised of representatives from each GRDA customer class (municipals, electric cooperatives and industrials) as well as the GRDA lakes area. Two at-large representatives also sit on the board. Board members serve staggered, seven-year terms, with one position opening each year, to ensure continuity. Customer representation on the board is characteristic of GRDA’s status as a customer-owned, customer-controlled public power entity. Board meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month and open to the public.
