Rogers County, Claremore win environmental awards

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Keep Oklahoma Beautiful has announced that the Rogers County Conservation District and the city of Claremore are recipients of the Award of Excellence in the group's statewide environmental excellence competition.
The awards will be presented Dec. 7 in Oklahoma City.
Judges rewarded Rogers County for its Conservation Education Reserve that serves as a living textbook to teach the importance of managing natural resources.
Claremore's Stormwater Public Education Program provides teaching aids and materials as support for the district.
Students and the public receive a hands-on learning experience that enables the district's staff to educate the community on conserving natural resources.
Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing Oklahoma's natural resources.
